PROFILE
• I am currently working as a Project Officer within a large local authority, I have developed an excellent understanding of building technology, developments and surveying studies. This was developed during my time at university and within my first surveying role. While in university I first gained a knowledge and understanding in the following by taking modules including Building Inspection, Construction Technology, CAD, Building Maintenance, Dilapidations and Design and Regulations.
• I have been lead designer and contract administrator on a number of residential refurbishments and commercial office fit outs throughout Scotland. This has included developing client briefs, options appraisals, developing design and specification, applications for statutory consents, tendering, tender analysis, contract administration, site and technical meetings, processing interim/valuation payments and final accounts.
• I have had experience of working with dilapidations from tenant side and negotiated on behalf of my previous organisation in respect of schedules of dilapidations. This has given me a firm knowledge of the dilapidations process and the use of the Scott’s schedule. I have excellent AutoCAD skills and have a substantial drawing portfolio.
• I relish the opportunity to work with proactive consultancy and believe I have the desired skills, drive and mind set to be a successful asset and colleague within an organisation looking to gain an enthusiastic employee.
• I am actively involved with RICS Glasgow & the West Matrics group and have organised a number of events including CPD sessions and been the point of contact for schools engagement in our region. Undertaking these roles has given me a knowledge and understanding of the RICS and positive ways to engage with the next generation of surveyors, this is something I am passionate about and thrive to make better.
• I am passionate about volunteering and have been involved with Marie Curie hospice and have an active role in helping the homeless in Glasgow.

KEY SKILLS
• Analytical and Critical Thinking: I look very closely at the detail of my arguments to make sure that any evidence that supported my point of view is accurate and reliable. I am critical of my sources, and use evidence that is well researched and weighs up opinions, arguments and solutions against appropriate criteria. I always check for hidden bias or assumptions in order to substantiate evidence and arguments supporting my conclusions.
• Leadership and Team working: An integral part of my university and college courses has been to take part in group activities which often involves working in groups of between 4 and 6 people to collate information and present it to the rest of the class.
