WORK EXPERIENCE
Quality Control Manager and Transport Manager
Sapphire Garage
2014-04 – Present
As Quality Control Manager I am in charge of a team of two Quality Controllers ensuring the highest standard of repairs to customer’s cars and also making sure we achieve our monthly sales targets.
As Transport Manager I oversee four drivers operating under EU Drivers Regulations and one non-CPC holder
Transport Manager.
From January 2010 when I started in quality control until early 2015, I worked entirely on the Advance bodyshop computer system. In early 2015 we transferred onto Emacs bodyshop computer system.
In September 2015 I successfully completed the St John Ambulance Fire Marshall course which is valid for two years form date of completion.
I feel my work record shows I am able to work either on my own or part of a team and on occasions under
stress. I feel it also shows my ability to communicate with all levels of staff and customers alike.
When I am not working my main interests are walking, cycling and listening to music.
I regularly walk in excess of 10 miles at a time in an effort to maintain good health, build mental stamina and to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside too.
Quality Controller
Solus Accident Repair Centre
2010-01 – 2014-04
I reported to the Workshop Manager and the General Manager as well as liaising with the Customer Services Manager. This was a busy role checking on average twelve cars a day and making sure any issues were dealt with by the technician involved before the car was returned to the customer. Another part of my duties was to ensure all procedures had been followed and paperwork completed.
In January 2011 I moved to work with the customer services team as a driver to be in a more customer facing position as this is where I feel my strengths lay.
In July 2012 I was asked to resume my role in Quality Control as my successor left and three members of the management team thought I was the best person for the position.
Since I took on workshop based role once again I have been assisting the Production Manager as our Workshop Controller left and to date has not been replaced. This situation has been ongoing since August 2013. In all my roles within Solus I have extensive knowledge of the Advance computer system.
Logistics Manager I
Premier Vehicle Logistics
2002-04 – 2009-08
We were collecting new and used vehicles from main car dealerships and delivering them onto the end users. The handover procedure including a full demonstration of the vehicle controls as well as getting the relevant paperwork signed.
We would go and inspect used vehicles the dealerships had bought prior to collection and payment.
As part of my role as Logistics Manager I achieved a Level 3 Certificate of Professional Competence in National Road Haulage Operations which allowed us to operate our own car transporter.
Our customer base included BMW, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Bentley and a number of private customers.
I also went into waterless mobile valeting to help with the effects of the economic down turn, but due to the economic climate and the age of my business partner, I decided to look for employed work once again.
