INTRODUCTION

Having recently finished my A-levels I am now looking to start the next stage in my life. I have a strong interest in health and beauty and hope to broaden my experience in this industry.

I have currently just finished studying a 4 month hair & makeup course at The Christine Blundell Make-up Academy where I trained to become a make-up artist. I have learnt many valuable skills such as: fashion and period make-up, hair dressing and cutting, barbering, wigs, prosthetics and special effects. I am hugely passionate about make-up and am confident that I can be successful pursuing a career in this industry.

Since studying make up I have also been working freelance. I have created my own website: nancymaemua.com and as a result have managed to do the makeup for a few photoshoots for aspiring photographers and models…. Thoroughly enjoyable, whilst also giving me the opportunity to work with different people and enable me to practice my existing skills.

I have also worked part-time at The Vue Cinema in North Finchley as a customer assistant, and have undertaken work experience as a Receptionist and Nursery Teaching Assistant as well as volunteering at a local Banardo’s Charity Shop, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed and have helped me gain valuable social skills, customer assistance skills, such as dealing with difficult customers, and teamwork skills. I am creative, energetic and love working as part of a team. I was selected to rep-resent Middlesex Girls at cricket in both the U11 and  U13.  Being Captain of the U11s enabled me to develop my team management and leadership skills.

My other interests are in the performing arts, particularly drama, where I am a confident performer and I have been used in many ‘lifestyle’ shoots for visitor attractions. I love working with children and have experience not only as a Nursery assistant but also after school care and babysitting. I am bubbly and confident and a fast learner who is ready, willing and eager to learn new skills and challenges.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

The Vue Cinema North Finchley: I worked as a customer assistant for six months. This included serving drinks, food, tickets and general assistance for the cinema.

Nursery Assistant at Highgate Primary School. ​Helping in the Nursery Class with all the daytime activities ranging from reading to playtime supervision.

Receptionist at LMC Design Consultants. A​nswering the telephone, general admin and office duties.

Volunteer at Barnardo’s Charity Shop​. Working behind the till, dealing with the public, helping in the stock room organising and displaying the donations.
