Madison Terry Ann Fox
I am writing to apply for the opportunity of fashion stylist for this company . I think that I have the attributes to have a strong impact on this particular job role, with my growing experience within the fashion industry, starting from when I got my first job in retail where I helped customers accessorise their outfits, all the way to taking an internship at a high-end fashion brand, that gave me the opportunity to help on their S/S campaign shoot which was really exciting and rewarding. I am still learning and building on my knowledge, I think that this opportunity will encourage me to test my skills, leading to valuable contributions.
During my three years studying Fashion Design at Liverpool John Moores University I have gained a variety of skills that are extremely beneficial for this job role; fashion forecasting, trend research, CAD, sewing, textiles, writing skills, Microsoft skills and the ability to stay organised throughout the 3 years of my degree. I feel I have a flair for financial aspects and I am able to budget well.
I have gained skills, by investing my time into opportunities and events which I feel will help me in my future career. I was lucky enough to have participated in Miss Black Country in 2016 where I organised a charity event and sourced corporate sponsorship, styled myself for each of the four categories including hair and make-up, and completed sporting and general knowledge events which I really enjoyed; while I was studying for my A Levels. Illustrating that I can successfully manage my time, whilst under extreme pressure.
Internship at Jane CarrJuly 2018 - August 2018
Jane Carr offered me an amazing opportunity to intern for them allowing me an insight into the fashion world but also the business side to the company which I think is important, because it is something that every individual going into this sector needs to know about to help grow the business. I also helped on their S/S 2019 shoot which is what pushed me to want to make styling my career path, because when styling someone else you create a persona for how they want to look and be seen, transforming that person into their ideal and I do really appreciate this side to fashion.
Ba Hons Fashion Design at Liverpool John Moores UniversitySeptember 2017 - June 2020
I am coming to an end of my three year degree studying Fashion Design, and I am really keen to start my career in styling. My degree has given skills that I think will benefit this job role, such as; being able to design outfits and full collections where styling is important. Styling is always my favourite part of the design process, you need to consider the colours, shapes, design details, textures, aesthetics and suggesting and mood to create a look to suit that research and person and this is something that I really enjoy and would appreciate the opportunity to turn my passion into a career.
