Currently managing a head count of 35 plus across the Warehousing and Distribution function in a busy day shift operation; reporting to the General Manager with a budget of approx. £3million.
• Isotrak was introduced last July and I was tasked with achieving a Fuel cost saving of 14%, this meant changing 29 driver’s styles of driving by showing them how to drive fuel efficiently. By
January, the cost saving had hit 17%.
• Proven and capable of working within budgets and planning, plus addressing the issues which result in overspend like Agency / Overtime usage.
• SAFED Training (Fuel Efficiency Trainer) Driver CPC completed. Hermes “Train the Trainer” course completed.
• QBE Insurance Collision and Investigation Course attended.
Distribution Manager/Transport Manager
Total Foodservice Solutions Ltd – Huddersfield – 2008-11 – 2011-08
Managed a team of 35 plus across the distribution arm of a wholesale catering supplier; working with a mix of Frozen, Chilled and Ambient food.
• Worked to create a workable schedule to meet deadlines efficiently. Planning delivery schedules to Customer delivery timeslots.
• Organise and plan Maintenance schedule for 11 Hgv’s / 5 vans in accordance with legal requirements.
• Organise and plan bulk deliveries / rotate stock with end of life date ensuring maximum shelf life is achieved.
• Plan work rotas for warehouse and drivers.
• Comply with relevant paperwork in accordance with ISO 9001 / 9002 Audit trails.
• Staff training and grievance procedures are followed and actioned.
Customer Service / Operations Manager
Sunlight Healthcare Ltd – Leeds – 2002-08 – 2008-11
Responsible for Leeds NHS Trust serving 9 Hospital sites. 72 staff including newly TUPE members from the NHS. Set up with a yearly budget of 2.8M to organise, plan and distribute linen
requirements.
Achieved 120k saving in first year and subsequent year on year.
Initial 8 vehicle fleet reduced to 5 with more efficient and effective logistic planning.
Long hours in excess of 70 most weeks affected my health.
Nightshift Operations / Hygiene Manager
Bronte Foods Ltd – Haworth – 2000-12 – 2002-08
Responsible for 3 sites, Boning plant, MRM process and High Risk production area. 35 staff.
HACCP training and reporting / Audit work. High risk deep cleaning training to new operatives. Loading of vehicles to ensure timely temperature controlled deliveries.
Business went into administration six months after I left.
Production / Warehouse Manager
Mailway Packaging Solutions – 1995-12 – 2000-12
Contract packaging design for mainly blue chip companies. Daily planning / staffing of up to 9 production lines and 150 staff. Goods inward / outward / logistic planning to customer requirements.
Increased productivity by introducing new training methods for Agency staff.
Decreased staff turnover by implementing a 4 on / 4 off rota to maintain continuity.
Left to progress my career.
Branch Manager
GKN Autoparts Ltd, Bradford – Leeds – 1987-06 – 1995-12
Progressed to Branch Manager after 3 years. 7 staff and 3 delivery vehicles.
Achieved year on year sales targets by gaining new business with improved delivery service.
Kept staff turnover at 0% for 4 years whilst Manager.
Company was bought out by rival and I was made redundant.
