I currently am employed as the Depot / Transport manager for the Wales & west area. I have full responsibility for the operation which comprises a mix of C1 delivery vehicles and panel vans, who are self-employed two man crews.
Staff comprise a number of night cross docking staff & day debrief, traffic clerks. I am the “O” License and C.P.C. holder and ensure the fleet is legal and roadworthy.
I have full responsibility for the efficient operation of the service, and control all aspects of the administration with regard to Discipline, Health & Safety, Budget control, etc. I have a number of direct reports to senior members of the company and am accountable for depot performance on a number of various KPI’s

My role involved hiring staff, setting routes and their targets. Setting and agreeing budgets for the depot. Maintaining accurate transport records and service schedules for inspection by the department of transport. It was during this period that I obtained my Certificate of Professional Competence (C.P.C.)
