Working for DHL managing the transport and warehouse operation for the North of Ireland which services 89 stores in Northern Ireland and ROI.
• Reporting to the General Manager of DHL Northern Ireland. Managing the Transport and Warehouse operation on a daily basis up to and beyond service levels benchmarked by contractual KPI’s, forecasting and managing the respective elements within the tight constraints of a budget.
• Overseeing the planned maintenance schedules and general upkeep of all vehicles on site to DHL standards.
• Responsibility for 25 warehouse operatives and 10 HGV drivers on site. Management of all HR issues
including absence, disciplinary and grievance.
• Manage and maintain good customer relations through effective communication.
• Successfully managed the relocation of the operation in 2013 from our existing warehouse to a DHL shared user site.
• In February 2017 worked on the project team for a customer led cost saving initiative to outsource 53 stores from the DHL operation to a third party company. Was heavily involved in the TUPE of staff to the third party contractor and worked alongside DHL People Services to ensure a seamless transition for all stakeholders.
• Oversee both the transport and warehouse elements of the DHL/Boots operation for the ROI in conjunction with the NI operation from April 2017 onwards.
