Thomas Ash & Sons Ltd are a family run business and are currently looking to recruit a Class 2 Driver.

Please read full job desciption before applying

All applicants must have at least 1 year’s current HGV driving experience but there may be exceptions depending on previous jobs.

· Applicants must have driven a manual gearbox HGV as we only operate with them.

· You should have suitable parking nearby for a 15-ton flatbed recovery truck

Applicants need to stay approximately no more than 5 miles from our depot (G32 6AS) due to specific etas , anyone applying over this will be automatically rejected..

Some Basic Mechanical knowledge is also preferred but not essential.

You work on call every second week & weekend on call after normal shift but this will be home based out of hrs with a recovery truck.

SHIFTS.

One week off call is Monday to Friday 09:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs (40 hrs) this is your off call week

On Call week Monday to Friday 09:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs then Home based on call including Saturday and Sunday.

Main duties will be to provide Car, Light Commercial Recovery and be able to carry out jump starts and wheel changes. (Training will be provided)

Full training will be given for the vehicle recovery aspect of the job 4 to 6 weeks normally but it will depend again on individual.

All applicants must pass a Disclosure Scotland check

You will also be required to carry out roadworks recovery this may occasionally involve weekends away on full pay 24hrs

SALARY

Staring at £540 per week (1 weeks lying time) for 6 weeks during training then rising to £560 for 4 weeks then £580 per week after this.

Extras : Call outs , Overtime & Roadworks Recovery.

Basic working week is 40 hrs.

28 Days Holiday

No holidays Jan or Dec other than either 2 days at Christmas or 2 Days at New year
