Technical Project Manager / Business Analyst – Interest Rates Swaps

 
Athena is JPMorgan’s strategic Markets trading and risk management platform, providing tools and functionality for trading, sales and operations staff globally, and written in a powerful technical environment optimised for flexible and controlled development and deployment.
 
The Rates Technology group are in the process of migrating our interest rate swaps trading desks from their existing technology stack onto the Athena platform, and an opportunity has become available for a motivated, high-performing individual to join the group in a Business Analysis/Project Management role at the Associate level.
 
You will be working with fellow technologists, Operations, Trading, Quantitative Research, and project teams in all areas of the migration; liaising with clients to understand business requirements, defining technical deliverables, undertaking analysis on problems of all sizes – from big-picture workflow issues to inspection and correction of individual trades – and working with developers to deliver cutting edge solutions on our next-generation platform.
 
Along the way, you will acquire a thorough understanding of the business and processes of interest rate swaps trading as well as the technology we are using to drive one of our most high-profile projects, and putting in place the framework which will run our business for years to come. 
To succeed in this role you will need:

A strong aptitude for problem-solving and an eye for detail, coupled with a thorough and diligent approach to analysis on sometimes complicated business problems

Strong project management abilities, including an understanding of project lifecycle, estimation of work, multi-tasking, risk assessment and judgement, and the ability to unblock and escalate
The desire to get hands-on with the existing stack and the new technology to understand and analyse the behaviour of particular trades
To be highly motivated, with the drive to both learn and deliver quickly in a challenging but rewarding role
