Purpose & Scope

The role requires the Driver to “live and breathe” the One Team “RESPECT” values by making a good impression with appearance, manner and ensuring goods are delivered in a first-class condition. The role also requires the Driver to complete all necessary paperwork, cash collections and above all, leaving everyone you meet with a really positive impression of the employee and the business.

Responsibilities

Complete vehicle daily inspection on iPad and get signed off by the Transport Manager
. Check the vehicle loaded is secure and weight is within limits

Adhere to all company policies and procedures, to include the Company Standards of Performance and Health and Safety Policy.
Count and collect money from customers as instructed to do so via special instructions on the iPad
Report all defects that may occur during your day, to the Transport Manager
Fuel vehicles on a daily basis as per company policy.
Report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with the company’s accident reporting procedure.
Adhere to all UK laws regarding the vehicle
Role Requisites

▪ Ensure the vehicle driven is safe to be driven on UK roads.

▪ Adhere to all UK and European driver rules and regulations to include driver’s hours, and tachograph rules.

▪ Ensure daily walk around checks are carried out to RHA standards.

▪ Ensure any defects are reported immediately to the Transport Manager

▪ Ensure the safety of the vehicle and its contents at all times.

▪ On arrival at delivery point vehicle is parked in a safe place not obstructing other road users

▪ Check all company equipment is working before leaving the depot

▪ Ensure all cash collections are make as per the special instructions on the iPad

▪ Placing the fridge freezer items in the correct location should the customer not be present

▪ Goods to be checked off with customer if present and signed for

▪ Communicate with the PK call centre in a polite and professional manner

▪ Notify the call centre if you have any discrepancies with your delivery

▪ Ensure all return products are reported in line with company procedures

▪ Ensure all returned products arrive back to depot in an excellent condition

▪ Ensure the iPad is used throughout the day in the correct manner

▪ On return to depot vehicles are fuelled with road diesel, red diesel & Ad blue

▪ On return to depot all rubbish and cardboard is removed from the vehicle

▪ Any vehicle defects are reported following the correct procedure

▪ Vehicle are parked on the correct bay for loading next day

▪ Be of a smart appearance at all time wearing the company uniforms

▪ PPE must always be worn.

▪ Ability to work under pressure.

▪ Flexibility.

▪ Use vehicle safes for money collection at all times

▪ Be flexible to work anywhere within the Pentagon Food Ltd if all routes are covered.
