Commercial Banking provides support to corporate clients through the provision of core banking products, such as lending, deposits and transaction banking services whilst also offering clients expertise in capital markets (private placements, bonds and syndicated loans), financial markets (foreign exchange, interest rate management, money market and credit) and private equity. This enables us to meet the varying and sometimes complex needs of all types of corporate clients.

The Market Data Team in Commercial Banking Delivery provides subject matter expertise across the Group for Market Data and Business Information (BI) services. Managing services to meet business needs, providing in-depth cost analysis from monthly MI, driving cost efficiencies across services, managing 3rd party suppliers and ensuring effective governance for data use.

The team is responsible for the strategic management of third party Market Data (external pricing and reference data) and BI services for the group, managing a budget in excess of £40m.

Are you a capable individual keen to develop a data analysis skillset and a growing scope of responsibility? This will appeal as it’s a rare opportunity to work across business divisions and the wider the group.

You’ll be accountable for:

– Influencing the Market Data agenda to deliver the right services at the right costs to facilitate an agile and competitive business.

– Engaging a portfolio of partners and ensuring the delivery of an effective and valued service.

– Working with business divisions to define accurate business requirements. Providing point of contact SME (subject matter expertise) knowledge.

– Providing accurate and timely analysis: delivering insight into market data costs, allowing business managers and finance business partners to effectively set and track Market Data budgets and to realise cost savings.

– Maximise the value of supplier relationships and drive cost efficiencies in collaboration with Supplier Vendor Management and Group Sourcing.

– Contributing to business cases to securing funding for change initiatives to progress the development.

– Championing Market Data services; pursuing appropriate cost allocation; promoting contractual compliance, managing supplier audits, delivering cost transparency and protecting the business.

In addition to these responsibilities you’ll be encouraged and expected contribute in all aspects of team activity including championing client first, simplification and collaboration.

The team encourages creative thinking and process re-engineering. Your role can be challenging, at times demanding, and you’ll be expected to embrace change. You’ll have the drive and determination to succeed in a role that spans across a wide array of areas within LBG.

Key capabilities, knowledge, skills and experience you’ll bring:

– Analytical skills spanning data, finance and business requirements.

– Delivering business results.

– Strong organisational skills with the ability to successfully manage a diverse portfolio of activities and priorities.

– Relationship management including strong inter-personal and influencing skills.

– Attention to detail and accuracy with clear presentation of information in a style appropriate for the audience.

– Sufficient technical appreciation to successfully promote the team’s services.

– Previous experience with Market Data services, suppliers and contracts would be valued.

– Effective operation of Risk and Governance controls.
