Document Services are at the hub of our customer communications across Retail Banking, Commercial Banking and Life and Pensions businesses, generating a staggering 900,000 letters every day…
We design/maintain the majority of the Bank’s financial communications to customers – from routine statements to critical life events like buying a house or dealing with financial difficulties.
As a result our communications, and the systems that underpin these, are utterly critical to the Bank – needing to be timely, informative and most of all, accurate.
And you’ll help us make it possible…
Joining as the Head of Documentation Services you’d be a Product Owner with responsibilities across these three areas:
• You’d consult on the best way to meet and transform business requirements for document scanning/production and fulfilment and digital storage.
• You’ll become a Trusted Advisor to the Group on customer communication related change for specific Bank projects such as a new services/products
• You’ll run a cutting edge document composition service with best-in-class technologies and responsibility for over 120 colleagues.

You’d have the chance to improve services and engage with all areas of our vast Group – meeting future requirements in an increasingly digitised and automated environment.
What are the key aspects of the role?
Based out of either our Halifax or Hove offices here’s where you’d fit in:
• Running the Service to exceed SLAs, reduce incidents and handle problem records
• Engaging with multiple customer communications Leads across the Bank to drive a strategy enabling a range of multi-channel personalised communications options.
• Motivating the business case for consolidation of document composition and inbound scanning solutions and align to core systems and strategic data architecture.
• Transforming delivery and operations to reduce risk, improve velocity and lower total cost of ownership
• Implementing automated testing and DevOps solutions as appropriate.
• Optimising the delivery structures in conjunction with the Business Change teams by creating collaborative Feature and Persistent Component teams.
And we’ll be looking for your inspiring leadership to nurture and motivate a community of engineers and technology practitioners through being visible and accessible.
About you…
• You’ll demonstrate a senior background with both Run and Change experience delivered with with a transformational mind-set.
• You’ll also have experience of the material risks and frameworks involved with documentation within a regulated environment.
• You’ll be able to provide thought leadership on contemporary technical delivery across the lifecycle from idea to value realisation
• And you’ll take an approach that exemplifies transformation principles and agile development.
• Most importantly you’ll need to be autonomous with an enthusiastic approach with current/prospective internal customers – demonstrating value and seeking opportunities.
• Experience of Agile delivery, Labs and Feature Teams would be particularly desirable given our move to Scrum principles. And building and fostering a culture of experimentation where people are comfortable trying new approaches will be second nature to you.
• We’d also prefer it if you also had previous experience with or a background in document composition, digital communications, mass personalized mailings, or something similar.
