Lloyds Banking Group’s Commercial Banking division supports over 300,000 business clients with a turnover above £1m p.a. Through a relationship banking based approach, we support clients through the provision of core banking products, such as lending, deposits and transaction banking services, as well as an extensive financial markets presence.
Within Commercial Banking, the Markets Operations & Trade Services teams provide specialist operational post trade support, trade lifecycle management, settlement and control.
A new position has arisen in our Treasury and Balance Sheet Operations Team. It’s an opportunity for you to develop professionally and personally, and to work collaboratively with a growing Middle Office Operations team that supports CB Markets and the Group Corporate Treasury. Together, we can bring to life the Group’s vision of Helping Britain Prosper and being the Best Bank for Clients.
You’ll be responsible for managing a Trade Control team whose primary objectives are to ensure trade and process integrity controls are in place for Group Corporate Treasury and CB Markets business units; and to implement Ring Fencing change. This includes:
• Operational processes in support of the Group’s issuance of Capital and Medium Term Notes, including at T+0 and throughout the lifecycle of the trade.
• Package management for all structured transactions to ensure alignment through the product lifecycle, covering bonds, derivatives and MM transactions
• Maintenance of transactional integrity of all front to back system gateways to ensure trades enter the processing world for settlement and risk purposes.
• Management of trade cancel and amend processes falling under the governance of the relevant Business Unit Control Functions.
• Monitoring of buyback and termination activity to ensure successful unwind of relevant packages.
• Reconciliation of internal to external records to authenticate positions.
• Engagement with relevant GCT and CB Markets business units.
You’ll need to have strong experience of Markets and Treasury products and of end to end system infrastructures, coupled with an awareness of the quality standards and regulatory & statutory requirements that govern Treasury operations.
You’ll have proven ability to understand business requirements and, from those, develop strategic solutions that will increase efficiency and improve the robustness of our processes. Having an understanding of Lean and Six Sigma workflow management tools would be beneficial.
Personally, you’ll be able to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders from across the Group and be able to communicate effectively at all levels and across different audiences.
The role is London based so as to provide close support to colleagues in Group Corporate Treasury and CB Markets, which are London-based teams.
If you have the experience we’re seeking then get in touch – we’d like to hear from you. In return, we’re dedicated to giving you opportunities and support to develop you both professionally and personally and to optimise your potential.
We also support work/life balance friendly options such as occasional home-working and we’re passionate about diversity in the workplace. As a new colleague of Lloyds Banking Group, you’ll join us on our journey to build a 21st century bank that reflects modern Britain, and build an inclusive culture where all colleagues feel welcomed and valued.
Together we make it possible.
