Summary of role
We have an opportunity for a French-speaking HR business partner to join Wells Fargo EMEA Region HR team, as an HR Business Partner, with particular focus on advising on Wells Fargo’s French operations. This role is based in our London office and the assigned client groups will initially be focussed on lines of business and support functions employing team members in France. However the role is part of the EMEA HR team and as such you will also partner groups and work on projects and initiatives in relation to EMEA wide work across any or all of the 15 countries in the EMEA region in which Wells Fargo operates.
Fluent French and English are essential and you will be expected to work bilingually. You will apply your French labour law and French financial sector HR practices expertise to develop HR strategies and solutions to address issues and implement systems and practices that meet local French requirements whilst at the same time, aligning with Wells Fargo’s global HR policies and philosophies. A pragmatic approach together with strong relationship building skills is critical.
As a Wells Fargo HR Business Partner you will develop strong business relationships with US & EMEA-based business leaders to deliver strategic human resource consulting solutions to support them in achieving business strategies and in managing risk. The HR Business Partners also work in closely with the HR Centres of Excellence (e.g. Talent development, Talent acquisition, Employee relations, Compensation, HR projects and strategic initiatives, Benefits, Payroll) to deliver HR solutions & services to the EMEA region.
Primary functions & responsibilities will include:
Provide proactive HR consulting with assigned client groups: working with business leaders to develop and implement human resource strategies and solutions for France aligned to business objectives.
- Promote WF vision, values & culture within the client groups: work with business leaders to achieve a diverse, inclusive & engaged culture.
- Promote understanding & adoption of global HR tools and processes in client groups: support implementation of global HR tools, processes & changes to improve efficiency, consistency & reduce risk
- Collaborative partnering across the wider HR team (HR centres of excellence teams, HR operations, US business partners) to work as One HR in Projects, Initiatives & customer engagements
- Contribute thoughtfully & constructively to assigned HR &/or Business led projects & initiatives: to provide HR consulting & LOB insights to shape outcomes & solutions.
- Support line managers as an internal consultant to strategize, define and resolve HR issues in their teams and LOB and achieve increased effectiveness & create value through people.
- Build leadership competencies and strengthen good management practices in client groups and senior leaders by coaching, providing insights, feedback and constructive challenge.
Market Skills and Certifications
A successful candidate must demonstrate:
- Strong HR business partner experience in financial services, international banking & capital markets
- Extensive knowledge & understanding of French labour law & HR practices in French Banking sector, in particular Capital Markets, Investment Banking & Asset Management
- Pragmatic & solution oriented with proven ability to quickly understanding the business & develop solutions
- Experience consulting with managers on organizational structure, design and change management
- Ability to coach mid/senior level leaders and provide feedback to become more effective leaders.
- Proven ability to operate effectively & collaboratively in a complex multi-location matrixed structure
- Good judgment and a strong moral compass to “do the right thing”
- Ability to find solutions to move things forward in ambiguous and unfamiliar situations.
- Ability to identify, assess & manage risk in the decision making processes
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Post-graduate HR qualification or accreditation (CIPD or equivalent)
- Bi-lingual in French & English
