Group FP&A Manager
The Group FP&A Manager will serve as a peer to the Group Financial Controller and each of the geographic FP&A managers with the CFO promoting a collaborative rather than a top-down Head Office to subsidiary culture.
FP&A is fledgling in the organisation and has recently been incorporated into the remit of the country Finance Directors. However, what is missing is the overall thought leadership, co-ordination, structure and strategy for FP&A. Hence the requirement for this role.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance, Tony Nicol, the Group FP&A Manager will be responsible for developing the future of Financial Planning & Analysis at Funding Circle.
The priorities for the Group FP&A Manager role include:
Financial Leadership
- Establish the operating rhythm of FP&A within the business, building corporate disciplines and processes, helping to train out new ways of working;
- Managing how we describe the business internally and externally, determining those leading and lagging KPIs that enable the CEO and CFO to hold the business to account whilst communicating progress effectively to shareholders (be they private or public);
- Support investor relation activity providing stakeholder business partnering to the CEO and CFO as well as supporting them in articulating the equity story to journalists, investors and suppliers;
- Support in capital raising rounds and if appropriate ensuring a successful listing of the company on the London Stock Exchange;
- Driving a planning cycle within the business that is seen as adding value rather than burdensome; that tightly aligns financial aspiration to operational and strategic goals; and provides a mechanism for performance management;
- Develop and maintain financial systems that underpin the ambition of the function and the business;
- Co-ordinate medium term plans that capture strategic intent, link to funding requirements and capital allocation;
- Provide commercial analysis and strategic thought on key decisions the business will undertake (e.g. geographic expansion, corporate locations, acquisitions etc);
- Support M&A activity through either direct due diligence or the co-ordination of advisors;
People Leadership and Partnering
- Act as a thought partner to the Finance leadership team and the Global leadership team;
- Lead by example and help develop and train the next generation of finance professionals;
- Demonstrate high quality judgement on people and constantly upskill and upscale the team
- Work with the wider finance leadership team in formulating, updating and implementing the function’s purpose and deliverables;
- Together with the CFO, support the communication of the strategy of the finance function to the wider team and the Global Leadership Team (read Executive Committee);
