MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Preparation

1.1 Ensure knowledge of daily deliveries and collections as per the planning board

1.2 Carry out daily vehicle checks ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy; fill out defect sheets reporting any faults on your vehicle to the Own Fleet Coordinator

1.3 Conduct all pre start checks, to include; digi-card and vehicle unit, update of mileage sheets and bins/covers

2. Specialised

2.1 Undertake all scheduled deliveries and collections

2.2 Ensure that paperwork for collection/deliveries is completed appropriately and signed for and any financial account queries discussed where required

2.3 Inspect all collection container loads prior to leaving the Customer Site, notifying the Transport Office of any issues before accepting the container

3. Policy Compliance

3.1 To operate the vehicle in accordance with legal requirements both internally and externally to the Company

3.2 To be responsible for the safety and security of the vehicle and load during delivery/collection

3.3 To be aware of cleanliness within your work and communal areas and that the ‘Clean as you go’ statement is enforced

3.4 Maintain confidentiality with regard to all aspects of Company and Customer information

3.5 Ensure that all Corporate Policies, Procedures and associated work activity Health and Safety documentation is adhered to

4. Monitoring

4.1 Ensure all skips for return are filled level prior to leaving the Customer Site and all skips for delivery are empty of previous loads

4.2 Record and notify both Customers and the Company of any damage to skips prior to leaving the Customer Site

4.3 Report any damage to Customer premises that could be seen to be driver fault

4.4 Be responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle
4.5 Report all vehicle/activity defects as they occur; in line with the defect reporting system

4.6 Report all breaches of Company Policy, Procedures and Health and Safety using appropriate communication methods

4.7 Actively report all near misses, incidents and accidents both on and off site

5. Communication

5.1 Maintain effective communication with Seniors, Peers and other staff internal and external to the organisation

5.2 Maintain effective communication with all customers; to include clear interpretation and response to spoken requests, verbal/written instructions and all relevant queries

6. Additional

6.1 Work within the key objectives and performance indicators required within your job role and department

6.2 To provide cover where necessary for direct colleagues and other departments and sites within the Group Companies in the event of absence

6.3 Be responsible for personal development needs, undertaking training where necessary to fulfil and progress skills within the role

6.4 To recommend and identify any improvements associated to work activities/the department area

6.5 In addition, the employee must be prepared to undertake any reasonable requests made to meet the business needs of the company
