Corporate – CIO Treasury – EMEA Funding Desk – VP/ED

Overview
 
The Funding Desk, part of the Treasury & Chief Investment Office (TCIO), is responsible for the management of the firm’s funding requirements and liquidity risk in order to support Lines of Business and ensuring the day-to-day funding of the balance sheet.  Treasury operates across three regions, North America, EMEA and Asia. The Treasury funding role requires execution of funding trades across a wide range of currencies and products including the management of collateral requirements within JPMorgan’s legal entity structure.
 
Team
 
The London Funding Team consists of seven Front Office staff managing the funding and risk management of over 50 currencies. The group’s key responsibilities are the day to day funding & risk management of currencies, ALM, ensuring compliance with regulatory collateral requirements & associated portfolio optimization. 
 
Role
 
At VP level, the role is based in London as part of the EMEA Treasury Funding Desk.  Primary responsibilities will include:

Manage the bank’s EMEA funding position by executing transactions with the market, utilising an understanding of:

short term funding markets and associated products such as FX swaps, repo and money markets

the firm’s balance sheet and legal entity structures within EMEA in the context of the firm’s approach to asset and liability management

Manage market risks that arise as a result of funding activity, such as interest rate risk, basis risk and FX risk.

Partner closely within TCIO and Lines of Business to coordinate balance sheet management, both in EMEA and globally.

Compliance with the firm’s code of conduct and adhere to proper controls policies and procedures which are applicable
The candidate will be able to display the following qualities:

Education in a quantitative or economic discipline at Degree level as a minimum with a preference for post graduate education

Previous exposure to Rates markets either in a front office or market risk role

Strong analytical skills & strong problem solving ability

Able to work independently to tight deadlines while displaying sound judgment

Communicate ideas and concepts with clarity

Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment

Contribute to a strong control and risk culture.
Leadership potential & capability to take on broader management responsibility in the future.
