The Group Corporate Treasury Finance team are looking to recruit a Regulatory Compliance Monitoring Manager to support the Treasury business. The role sits within the Business Unit Control Function team who are responsible for the first line delivery of robust operational risk and compliance monitoring and reporting.

The team works with a variety of finance and non-finance stakeholders and varying levels of seniority on a daily basis to provide risk and control assessments, coupled with operational risk support for strategic and tactical projects e.g. Ring-Fencing and partnering the other Group Corporate Treasury teams.

Through the provision of regular MI and analysis, you will be in a privileged position to understand the current Group and Corporate Treasury performance and the future direction of the Group’s balance sheet. The breadth that the role offers will equip you with a strong understanding of the Group whilst offering excellent transferrable skills.

You will play a pivotal role ensuring that the risk and control environment is understood, accurately documented, tested and continually evolving to drive the greatest impact. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with the wider team to drive operational risk and compliance insight to aid effective business decision making.

You will pride yourself on your attention to detail, your ability to challenge the business, produce high quality deliverables and will be comfortable working to evolving deadlines. You will be able to prioritise your workload and be a committed team player. Allied to this will be your Excel skills and you’ll need to be comfortable using Excel to manipulate, summarise and present data and developing the “so what” messages in executive summaries via Powerpoint to senior committees.

Main Responsibilities:

• Delivery of market regulatory risk management through regular and ad-hoc business level impact control assessments and provide an oversight on compliance policies and procedures, as part of the ongoing monitoring requirements

• Execute a risk based compliance business monitoring plan.

• Act as a liaison point within Group Corporate Treasury for first line risk queries, and deliver improvements as required for Ring-Fencing.

• Investigate operational/compliance risk events and/or any compliance breaches.

• Produce monthly status updates and assist in the build and production of MI as required to the Risk Committee.

• Support and coordinate the detection and mitigation of potential money laundering risk;

• Assist in the training of relevant staff to ensure continuing competence in accordance with the FCA regulations;

• Carrying out trade surveillance and monitoring for trades undertaken by GCT on all products that GCT offers;

• Assisting with the on-going design and development of relevant surveillance reports;

• Assisting with written responses market abuse enquiries from the FCA and other national regulatory bodies.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

• Detailed knowledge of MAR, MIFID II and other key FCA regulations pertinent to the Group Corporate Treasury function.

• Demonstrable experience in the implementation of a trade surveillance framework

• Ability to assess current frameworks and make recommendations for improvements or amendments.

• Sound understanding of the STORS process with evidence of having undertaken a review from start to finish.

• Evidence of timely delivery of monitoring and testing in accordance with business requirements

• Ability to collaborate effectively with the front line business to drive a robust regulatory awareness and a high level of adherence to internal polices

• Awareness of current regulatory rules combined with ability to keep abreast of changes. i.e. regulatory landscaping and thematic reviews.

• Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and influence the business through a deep understanding of operational risk, compliance and regulatory risk

• Excellent Communication Skills both written and verbal

• Strong Microsoft Office skills particularly data manipulation and analysis using Excel pivot tables and PowerPoint.

£56,000 – £64,000

Allowances/Benefits:

4% Flexible Benefits Allowance (£2,240 – £2,560)
