Job Description
The Business Manager of JPMorgan Asset Management’s Global Alternatives European Real Estate & Global Transport is an Executive Director Role within the Finance organization of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Key functions of the role include:
Work with our European Real Estate and Global Transport Senior Management on business priorities and deliverables
Support the day to day operation of the businesses, including participating in the different governance forums and supporting control processes (e.g., audits, RCSA)
Oversight to ensure the business is run in an efficient and controlled manner, including tracking against budgets/plans and key financial ratios, and effective management of direct and indirect costs
Provide support for new products from conception through to implementation
Provide an effective liaison between the investment teams and various support groups (e.g. Operations, Technology, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Audit, HR) to manage both the day to day operations, and to define and help implement key initiatives for the business
Represent European Real Estate & Global Transport strategies in cross-AM initiatives, including control and regulatory initiatives
Partner with other Alternatives Business Managers across other regions and products to share best practice and drive consistency across AM
Support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery efforts for the business
Address ad-hoc business issuesAttributes & Qualifications:
Asset management expertise/experience is a strong preference, but not an absolute requirement
Knowledge of European closed-end and open-end private funds, ideally in illiquid asset classes are essential
Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic business environment and continually reprioritize to focus on the key issues/topics
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various businesses and key support functions
Ability to interact and communicate confidently and effectively with all levels of management, including executive management of the firm
Be proactive and accountable – prioritize work, meet tight deadlines, and possess strong attention to detail
Have the confidence and skill to think strategically, develop solutions, and present recommendations to business leaders
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 10 years experience with exposure/involvement in Global Investment businesses or product areas
Strong financial analysis, project management, other quantitative analysis
