Commercial Banking provides support to corporate clients through the provision of core banking products, such as lending, deposits and transaction banking services whilst also offering clients expertise in capital markets (private placements, bonds and syndicated loans), financial markets (foreign exchange, interest rate management, money market and credit) and private equity. This enables us to meet the varying and sometimes complex needs of all types of corporate clients.
An excellent leadership opportunity is now available within Global Transaction Banking as an Area Director for HP & Leasing. You will report directly to the Head of HP & Leasing within Client Coverage. You will direct and lead the provision of a team in the structuring of financial solutions leading to the on-going relationship of existing customers coupled with the development and acquisition of new HP clients, leading to the achievement of team and individual sales growth and great client outcomes.
You will have extensive knowledge of Commercial/Corporate lending and have the ability to demonstrate the delivery of results through others. This is a rare senior leadership opportunity to be an integral part of a mature and key part of LBGs product offering.
Key Accountabilities
• To lead the Regional team and devise local strategies for the acquisition of new business from the Commercial SME network across the South of England whilst supporting the existing Executive team in developing new strategies for the Bank’s chosen key markets.
• Identifying, establishing and building relationships with senior stakeholders within the bank and designing, presenting and implementing strategic plans.
• Responsible for managing senior key stakeholders across the Commercial Banking SME network in the South of England.
• Manage a team of up to eight RMs, across diverse business segments to ensure the delivery of results through others by on-going coaching / development / training and monitoring of performance.
• Be seen and recognised as the local face of GTB Fixed Assets in the business community.
Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience
• Expert knowledge in HP & Leasing products
• Ability to demonstrate proven industry experience (c10 years)
• Previous field based experience and familiarity and competency in HP & Leasing products.
• Sales management techniques including team leadership motivation and coaching.
• Tenacity and commercial awareness with the ability to recognise and deliver profitable business in line with company objectives.
