WORK EXPERIENCE
Mr Tyre Ltd
2013 – Present, Transport Manager
My Current role is the complete Management of the transport operation for Mr Tyre Ltd. We have a fleet of 30 vehicles which deliver tyres to the whole of England, Scotland and Wales.
I am responsible for the employment, Grievances and disciplinary issues for all the drivers and the warehouse personnel.
I also monitor all driver’s hours and working time directives. I plan and schedule all regular service maintenance schedules and communicate with customers and suppliers on a daily basis.
I deal with accident management and health and safety issues plus many more duties on a daily basis.
United Fleet Distribution/BCA Logistics Ltd
2010 – 2013 Control Manager
My role was the management of the control team who planned, controlled and managed over 650 trade plate delivery drivers across the United Kingdom. The department works as a call centre to all our
drivers who will call in with various problems throughout their working day as well as an out of hour’s operation for problems 24 – 7. We also receive calls and request from all our other call
centres across the UK and handle multiple and various queries off our customers. I also controlled all of the departments KPI’s and managed all travel costs and quality audits. I also dealt with
customer complaints and disgruntled drivers plus may more duties on a regular basis
Dennis Jones Transport
2003 – 2010, Transport/warehouse Manager
My role was the complete management of the transport & warehouse operation including working time directives, drivers’ hours, transport planning, disciplinaries and scheduled maintenance plus many
more daily duties. Whilst at Dennis Jones Transport, i implemented a new picking location system which almost doubed there picking effectiveness. It was during my employment with Dennis Jones
Transport that I obtained My National CPC certificate.
Barlow Handling/Lansing Linde fork trucks.
2000 – 2003, Senior Engineer.
I was originally working for Barlows at Landrover before Linde won the contract and my role was transferred to them. My role was senior engineer for all the fork trucks and buggies over the
complete site.
Eddison Fork Trucks
1998-2000, Service Engineer.
My role was to service and maintain fork trucks within the midlands area, this gave me a good basis for customer relations as I was with several different customers on a daily basis
West Mercia Fork Truck Services
1994 – 1998, Apprentice service engineer.
My role was complete training in all aspects of fork truck maintenance and repairs in order to become a fully qualified engineer.
OTHER SKILLS
I am a very confident, hard working person with a high drive to succeed in whatever I do. I can usually handle any situation that is put in front of me and if I can’t do it straight away I will
always find the answer. I am very organized, very analytical and a very quick learner.
INTERESTS
I enjoy spending time with my wife & 2 children. I also take part in a range of sporting activities including rugby, golf, fishing & football. I enjoy socialising with friends and family and I am
a very family orientated person.
