WORK EXPERIENCE

HGV Class 1 Driver
GIST – Bellshill
September 2014 to Present
Responsibilities:
I collect my perishable goods and deliver to destinations all over Britain. Once delivered I contact my planner who then advises me where to collect my next load from, I do this over four days which I spend sleeping in the lorry.
Accomplishments:
In my opinion I get the job done in the correct manner delivering my loads on time without any set backs which is vital in logistics
Skills Used:
I used my knowledge of the roads to get me from A to B the best way and also my previous experience to help less experienced drivers than myself

Van Driver / Sales
Brunchies Bakery – Kilmaurs
July 2012 to August 2014
Responsibilities:
Loaded up a small jiffy van with freshly cooked food products for delivery round a set run of industrial estates in the local area.
Accomplishments:
This was a family run business which my wife and I started from scratch and then went on to include the delivery van, both the shop and van were very successful and we had a large customer base who in turn were satisfied with the product and service
Skills Used:
I class myself as a people person and I brought this to the job, I got on well with all my customers.
Also I was able to bring my previous driving experiance over by planning the route out to suit the customers needs.

HGV Class 1 Tanker Driver
Billy Bowie Special Projects – Kilmarnock
June 2010 to June 2012
Responsibilities:
I was based in England from Monday to Friday and every other week to Saturday. I drove a vacuum tanker and collected leachate from landfill sites for disposal in waste water treatment sites all over the East and West coast
Accomplishments:
I picked the job up very quickly and learned how to work the tanker properly this in turn gave my manager peace of mind that I would get the job done.
Skills Used:
This could be a solitary job as a lot of the sites were unmanned so any problems you came across you had to deal with yourself, and I think I was very good at this.

HGV Class 1 ADR Tanker Driver
McPherson Ltd – Aberlour
June 2000 to June 2010
Responsibilities:
I was based at Balgray Bond in Beith. My duties were moving tanks loaded with whiskey or raw spirit from bond to bond and taking the empty ones away to be purged.
Accomplishments:
This was my first ADR job and I grabbed the opportunity with both hands. I think I brought to the company a man who very capable of getting the job done with minimum fuss, which is ideal for the planners and managers in the office. My loads were almost always on time and never any complaints.
Skills Used:
As stated above this was my first ADR job so the skill I demonstrated the most was my ability to learn and adapt quickly.
