WORK EXPERIENCE
Multi-drop driver
DHL Tradeteam
2017-12 – Present
I currently work as a multi-drop driver (HGC Class 1) with DHL, delivering drinks to pubs, hotels and
entertainment facilities. This position requires a high level of customer service to ensure that deliveries are
completed in a satisfactory manner. I thoroughly enjoy this physical job, but I would like to relocate to Scotland
and face a fresh challenge.
Royal Engineers Driver
British Army
2016-10 – Present
36 Engineer Regiment)
Awards: Long Service and Good Conduct medal; Macedonia medal; Iraq medal; Afghanistan medal; Diamond
Jubilee medal
Working as a Royal Engineers Driver with 36 Engineer Regiment, I was responsible for vehicle maintenance
and servicing. I also oversee less experienced colleagues, assisting them with routine maintenance, fault
finding, and pre-MEI (MOT) mandatory equipment inspection. In addition, I ran the JAMES computer system
for the vehicles, logging and maintaining the information for vehicles and equipment – the JAMES system is
the military equivalent to fleet management systems. I most recently managed the vehicle parts store where I
was responsible for the equipment that corresponds with the relevant vehicle. I also requisitioned replacement
items for defective equipment and maintain fire extinguishers for vehicles. In addition, I was a mobile crane
operator but do not currently hold the civilian qualification.
My first operational tour was in Macedonia where I was part of the team who collected and destroyed weapons.
I have served in Northern Ireland as part of Public Order troop with a heavy section plant team where I operated
a low-loader. In 2002, I was part of the invasion force in Iraq as a driver. I also moved stores from Kuwait into
Iraq. I was then part of the enabling force in Afghanistan on Operation Fingal – again I was a section driver. I
have also been stationed in Cyprus where I was employed as a low-loader driver and managed civilian drivers
too. In addition, I have supported and participated in three search-based exercises in Jordan and a major battle
group exercise in Canada. During my time with the Royal Engineers, I have had experience using a variety
of armoured vehicles including Mastiffs, Wolfhounds, Snatch Land-Rovers and armoured combat engineer
tractors. As well as low-loaders, I can drive abnormal loads.
I have completed my driver’s CPC licence and have my digital tachograph. I have also completed my ADR
classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9, and in tanks.
In November 2015, I was awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct medal for 15 years of unblemished
