Duties:
• Full control of the transport operations, leading a team of 2 regional managers and 5 transport managers to meet and exceed the demands of the business.
• Manage the transport operation across 3 sites – Larkhall in Scotland, Howden and Barton in Yorkshire.
• Open up sites across the country (London, Bristol, Warrington). I have located and set up an Outbase at Hoddesdon with over 120 staff and I have also set up Bristol with over 60 staff. These have a Transport Manager and shift supervisors & admins to ensure the depot runs efficiently.
• Manage a budget of circa £21million.
• Improve fuel efficiency and MPG. Lead the assessor team to drive forward the driving styles by focusing on the top and bottom performers each week
• Procurement of new vehicles and assets. I have purchased 62 brand new artic trailers, 20 class 2 home delivery vehicles, 10 new artic vehicles and I am in the process of changing the fleet dynamic from vans to 7.5t vehicles.
• Develop H&S culture. Ensure risk assessments and SSOW are up to date. I have implemented a behavioral awareness culture where the supervisors and managers engage the staff and coach on bad habits and compliment on good ones.
• Full O license responsibility including keeping VOLS up to date and accurate.
• Manage the fleet via the fleet manager and fleet team. Ensure supplier reviews are carried out. I have implemented R2C into the network.
• Legal compliance. I have implemented an infringement policy and implemented Tachomaster.
