Full management responsibility for a head count of 67 people in total that are involved in a 24 hour a day, 6 day a week palletline multi-drop and collection operation, managed change within the depot, management of six onsite warehouses, developed new process for employee evaluation which resulted in marked performance improvements, negotiated new pay structure for employees very successfully, reduced agency driver usage by over 70% and employed more full time staff, ensured process of on time every time successfully, restructured secure processes for all away from base fuel drawings successfully.
This position required the management of a national pallet network, including day and night trunking between hubs, ensuring that all goods were effectively delivered on time every time, ensuring that all vehicles were maintained and safety checked according to DVSA regulations.

Warehouse Cross-dock Shift Manager

This was a temporary position.
Managing cross-dock unloading, relocating & reloading to specific routes, man management & disciplinary procedures for a staff of approximately 75 varied staff working on a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation delivering mainly to pharmacies, safe practices, driver cover arrangements, sub-contractor management, mechanical maintenance arrangements, Warehouse safety management, stock control, safe practice, ensuring VOSA compliance etc.

I used this break in my career to travel overseas, and visit friends and relatives & and basically broaden my horizons and experiences, and also relocate to my former home area in Scotland.
