I am in possession of a full, HGV class 1/Cat C+E license, have passed all necessary CPC modules and have an in date CPC card as well as a digital tacho card. I have worked in various positions through my years of employment, and have learnt excellent customer service skills, self-discipline and a great ability to manage my own time. I have never had any insurance claims.
Work Experience
Fusion supply chain. April23-current
I am currently working at a small company as part of the Palletways network, delivering general haulage to businesses and domestic addresses around Leicester and Nottingham. This is curtain side work with palletised goods being delivered by tailift or forklift truck. Although I do enjoy working with this company, unfortunately there is very little job security, as I am working through an agency. The potential for extra hours/overtime is also very limited.
Redcorn Ltd, Car transporter driver Feb2023-April 2023
This position consisted of collecting cars for scrap, most of which were non running. This meant over coming the daily challenge of getting cars with no power on the back of the transporter, often from residential areas. The work was physical at times, and always demanded concentration and a level of intuition to ensure collections were successful, in situations that were not straight forward.
Redcorn are a London based company, who began operating in Derby late 2022, unfortunately they were unable to secure a permanent site to work out of in the Midlands and had to close, which is why the job was only for a short period.
Booker Retail. Multi drop driver/Warehouse loader September 2021-Feb23
At Booker I was responsible for delivering to shops and petrol stations. These deliveries included food, alcohol, and high value tobacco products, on cages. Due to the high value of the deliveries, extra vigilance and care had to be taken to ensure myself, and the freight, remained safe at all times. I maintained good relations with customers as they were in receipt of regular deliveries from Booker, and are what keeps the company moving forward. The customers were seen as colleagues to me, as we all operated under the same company umbrella, and good working relations are always essential. The deliveries included manual handling of heavy items with deliveries going into central London quite regularly. I also gained warehouse experience at Booker, where I loaded and unloaded vehicles and undertaken general warehouse duties.
Mini Clipper Logistics class 2 multi drop driver July 2021-September2021
With Mini Clipper I was delivering general freight to a variety of different premises, from residential addresses to industrial areas. Covering areas around Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Buckinghamshire. As with any driving job, I was responsible for daily vehicle checks and adherence to all WTD regulations. These were pump truck and tail lift deliveries, unless a forklift was available to unload at delivery point. The job also involved manual handling.
Palletline London class 2 multi drop driver May 2016-July 2021
In this role I was responsible for delivering general haulage into central London and all surrounding areas. Once my vehicle had been checked, and my load has been secured I carried out multi drop deliveries, and collections across London. Each day I would be given an area of central London, where I drove an 18 tonne, or 26 tonne vehicle, delivering to a range of different places including building sites, shops, homes and offices.
Fiat Battersea Parts Delivery Driver March 2015-May 2016
In position I was responsible for delivering car parts to a number of addresses throughout the day. My duties included picking stock in correspondence to that on the given invoices, loading my van and route planning. The depot was based in Battersea; however the daily route generally covered not only London but, also some of the home counties. When considering the amount of mileage I would cover in one day, it wass absolutely crucial I planned a route as effectively as possible, to ensure I could complete all my deliveries in a timely, but safe manner. Having great knowledge of the roads was essential to ensuring the large work load was covered on a daily basis.
Mylands Delivery Driver/Warehouse packer November 2014-February2015
During my time in this position I was given two separate roles, splitting my time throughout the week either packing merchandise into containers and boxes ready for sale or delivering the goods to customers. This was an independent paint manufacturer and they were always looking to secure repeat business, so as a delivery driver I would not only frequent our London based customers but also went as far afield as Wales and Scotland to secure new custom by providing a quick and efficient delivery service. In this role I got used to handling goods such as paint and solvents with great care to ensure they arrived at their customers address in the same state they left the yard in, I also got used to a lot of long distance driving and learnt the roads outside of London to a good standard. This was only a temporary role but I was offered a permanent position one month after the probation period ended, however I had taken on a new job closer to home so had to reject the offer of permanent employment.
Autoglass Mobile Windscreen Repairer November 2010-August 2014
Being a mobile technician, my job was to visit customers at their home or work address to replace or repair the glass in their vehicle. A pivotal part of this role was to ensure the highest quality of customer service was provided, I also had to keep to very tight time frames so had to organise my days work effectively, load heavy stock such as windscreens from the storage racks to my van, keep customers informed with expected arrival times to their address, check paperwork to avoid any possible fraud or non-payment on jobs and be a conscientious road. This role was based in Croydon but covered all of south London, surrey and parts of Kent.
Sainsbury’s Customer Service Assistant October 2006-September 2010
In this position I was responsible for maintaining a tidy and presentable deli counter, serving and advising on our products and stock checking all our products at the end of each shift. Excellent customer service skills were essential for this role, as was ability to work efficiently and quickly whilst adhering to health and safety regulations.
