I have taken part in many tournaments for cricket, basketball, rugby and football, required me to work in a team and be a team player. Being a sports coach now and leading children in tournaments, encouraging them to get the best out of them when team moral was low.

Work Experience

o Fashion Experience
Working with Ghetto Brilliance for a year extended my knowledge on sales, designing, composition and marketing. My main role at the brand was to expand the audience through changing the brand image and designs to suit a wider range of customers. Extending my sales skills was key to then make the brand my appealing to our customers. I wanted to make them feel a part of the ghetto brilliance team and not just a customer.
This role was purely for my enjoyment and just wanted to better my sales and customer service skills.

o Lion academy trust (Judgemeadow Community College and Beauchamp College):
Organisation – here my main role is to coach children in football. I have to create a set coaching plan before I take the session. I also have to ensure teams are organized and all children have been registered in. The role teaches me great communication and leadership skills, as I take lead of my own group of children but also, I have to communicate with all members of staff and parents. I also carry out general admin duties when signing in children and collecting money when needed, ensuring this is correctly logged and filed. The role requires high level of customer service to ensure children are wanting to come to these sessions, they have to be fun, innovative and parents are also satisfied with the service provided.

o Cream’s Café:
This role required me to greet customers as they walked into the store, accompany them with a table, clean tables and any other necessary areas. My job also meant that I had to take out the desserts and drinks to the customers tables with a positive and polite manner. I had to manage the floor by making sure that all of the areas were cleaned and available to sit at. I had to make sure that I was following the health and safety policies at all times, and pay close attention to company procedures. This role was a customer service orientated role as I had to ensure that I was welcoming, polite and entertaining at all times. My number one priority was to make sure that all of the customers got their food on time and that they sat at a clean table that suited them.

During my time at creams, I had to train up 3 new workers who I had the responsibility to bring in and make sure they kept up with the creams culture. I had the responsibility to teach them all of the procedures, how to act with the customers and what they had to do in their position. I had to show my leadership skills throughout this period as I took on the role and made them follow what I was doing whilst working.

o Local Hero:
This role required me to welcome customers into the pub. My role was to cater for the customers and take down their orders and make them drinks. I was also required to be flexible as I would change from a bartending role to a floor member. This is where I had to clean tables and set them out in a certain way. I had to also answer any questions that came my way which I found easy as I am good when coping under pressure. I became very familiar with working the tills and helping customers with their decision. I feel that I was good at this as I love to go out of my way to help out with the customers satisfaction.

o Kestrel Mead Primary Academy:
The role that I am undertook is a sports apprentice job. This required me to use my coaching skills that I have gathered for 3 years to then apply that knowledge and teach the next generation. I put forth my leadership and good communication skills when doing this role as I always had to be alert and try lead the children in a better path within sports. I also had to make sure that what I say gets through to the children and helps them improve in my lessons. The role required me to also make my own lessons to teach different years the right curriculum in the right time. I feel that I am good at this as I have always been good with my time keeping due to the fact that I have never missed a deadline. By doing this apprenticeship, it allowed me to achieve multiple qualifications. I am already qualified in dodgeball, multi-sports, football, basketball, first aid, safeguarding and core sports. By the end of my course, I will have qualified in many more sports in many different fields.
o Sparkenhoe Primary School
At Sparkenhoe, my roles are a sports coach and an aftercare worker. Sport coaching over the past year has developed my leadership skills even further due to taking the children to school game tournaments and leading the children through them even with the ups and the downs. The role of an aftercare worker is very important too as I have to entertain the children with various engaging activities which the kids enjoy while they are waiting to get picked up. Speaking to parents and people of all ages and different backgrounds then further developed my communication skills as I was communicating in different ways which I feel is a valuable skill to have in any business. Working with children isn’t always easy as you have to be on your toes constantly which Sparkenhoe has taught me. Over the past year I have had to develop my adaptation skills and being able to be put under pressure. This now allows me to now take on bigger workloads and still be efficient and not rushing my work which again is strong to have in a business environment.

At Sparkenhoe I have developed a lot of skill skills like leadership, time keeping, coaching skills but out of all I built on putting myself forward for more opportunities outside of my role this year. I am more productive in a working environment not and more confident which allows me toto open up more doors for myself

Interests and Activities

o Sports: My passion for sports originated from my interest in cricket. During secondary school I involved myself in other sports such as rugby, football and basketball. Currently, I am in my college’s A team for basketball, competing in weekly matches.

o Fashion: As an aspiring personal stylist, I committed myself to heavy research into both current and future fashion trends resulting in a unique wardrobe curated over many years. My work with ghetto brilliance permitted me to translate my passion into real life where I worked as both a model and design consultant, further enriching my current understanding of both media and the current fashion world.
