WORK EXPERIENCE
TRAFFIC PLANNER
Move it Express – Livingston
2018 to Present
Move it were one of main customers whilst i was trading as MCS they offered me an opportunity to join them as head planner and organize there fleet of around 30 vehicles ranging from van up to arctics covering both the UK an Europe. My daily responsibilities comprise of organizing all collection and deliveries on behalf of our many customers, to record maintenance issues with the trucks and to supervise all drivers and warehouse staff.
This role is both challenging and enjoyable in fact i think to a degree i thrive a little on the everyday stresses.
OWNER
I set up MCS as my own independent Courier Business
Motherwell Courier Services – Kirk of Shotts
2010 to 2018
to run alongside my Fathers haulage
company. I have very quickly established a small but returning portfolio of customers in the local area. Unfortunately the work is very inconsistent and my overheads are increasing all the time. Regards the everyday roles of the company as you can imagine I have been responsible for all aspects from the driving through to the administration including accounts payable and sales. My small but in my opinion impressive customer portfolio includes the likes of Office Depot, Central Scotland Forest Trust, Water Coolers Scotland and many more.
MANAGER/DRIVER
Treharne Transport Services – Bedworth
2005 to 2010
This is my Fathers business based down in Bedworth just outside Coventry, asitisa family business I have occupied many roles from being in the office dealing with customers and suppliers, to out on the road delivering all over the UK and Ireland and also completing regular runs to Holland, Germany and Belgium. I was in this role for 5 years and have gained a lot of experience driving on the continent dealing with many different nationalities.
DRIVER/WAREHOUSEMAN
Rosti Technical Plastics – Larkhall
2005 to 2005
-2005
My time at Rosti was brief just under half a year, this time was very enjoyable as the role was quite varied as my duties were split between the warehouse and driving.
I was responsible for unloading and loading a range of vehicles, as well as picking duties and production line replenishment. The driving duties consisted of delivering finished goods to customers and bringing in raw materials from suppliers.
I was offered a full time position with Rosti but declined as I had already put the wheels in motion to join the family business.
SHIFT SUPERVISOR
Iceland-Booker
leader
Livingston
2004 to 2005
Livingston 2004-2005
This was my first position on relocating to Scotland and although only a brief assignment it was very much enjoyable. In my short time at Iceland I worked within the chill department as team leader. My position gave me the responsibility of sorting out any issues with the pick allocation, stock shortages and the staff members on duty.
The reason I left was due to passing my driving test and wanting to seek a driving position.
Warehouse
Christian Salvesen – Nuneaton
2003 to 2005
My time at Salvesens was spent in the cold store driving the Reachtruck on the back shift I was responsible for bulk picking, pick face replenishment and putaways. I left this position to relocate
to Scotland.
Supervisor
TNT Fashion Flow – Coventry
2000 to 2003
I started at TNT on the picking, I then became responsible for loading/unloading using a counterbalance truck and eventually was made up to acting shift manager responsible for a shift of 10-15 Persons pending seasonal demands and the dispatching of between 15 to 20 trucks.
Unfortunately the company relocated to Leicester and I didn’t have my drivers licence at the time so was unable to make the commute.
