Community Youth Worker/Youth Team Administrator

Youth team administrator’s role is to ensuring the monitoring to our funders is complete and process in time. This includes inputting all attendances and other monitoring information into an electronic database.

  • The role also has an amount of data manipulation, and regular figures are produced to support YMCA Bolton’s work and to show a need for the work to continue or to demonstrate why it’s needed.
  • Role also includes being AQA administrator and Vinspired administrator, to enable young people to gain meaningful accreditation and qualifications through their hard work and volunteering.
  • I’m responsible for giving appropriate information on a plethora of issues young people face, including employment, training, education, relationships, legal, and sexual health. Supporting young people through these issues, to help them gain sustainable employment, educational and/or training places.
  • In keeping with YMCA England’s motto of “Belong, Contribute and Thrive”, I work to give young people opportunities to represent YMCA Bolton at events around the country and overseas, including residentials and overnight trips, with our partners and likeminded organisations to have their voices heard and to take part in learning opportunities. I have been responsible for groups of young people travelling to France and Bulgaria in the past year, engaging in European funded programmes.
  • Working in youth groups, with young people (5-19 years old), to enable them to take part in meaningful activities. These clubs are run in partnership with other community groups, including a specialist school, a housing organisation and a Methodist church.
  • Worked alongside Bolton Council to engage young people from the local skate park community to designing and building a new skate park on the existing skate park site. This required arranging public meeting, meeting designers and ensures everyone was happy throughout the process. Following on from the work, moved on to engagement work with the skate park users, to continue the work, engage the park users in the annual summer competition, as well as other positive activities.
