Key Achievements
2015 to Present
In 2015 I stood and was elected as the Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament (MSYP) for Levenmouth, representing approximately 5000+ young people. During my term I have attended various national sittings participating in several debates. In 2016 I successfully submitted a member’s motion in favour of expanding Scotland’s Rail Network, which was passed with an overall vote of 80% in favour. I am also a sitting member on the Transport, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee (TERA). Over the last 3 years I have attended numerous meetings at the Scottish Parliament regularly engaging with sitting MSP’s and senior Civil Servants. In March 2017 I stood for re-election and was successful. My work as an MSYP has allowed me to improve both my confidence and communication skills.
2015 to 2018
Between 2015 and 2018 I voluntarily worked with a number of youth organisations, regularly attending meetings and group sessions, providing help and support to the young people of Levenmouth. This work has allowed me to pursue one of my passion’s which is working with young people coping with Mental Health issues, to improve their well-being and remove the stigmas surrounding their conditions. This work has allowed me to improve my interpersonal skills, whilst raising my awareness of the problems faced by others.
2015 to 2018
For 3 years I was a member of the Levenmouth Rail Campaign Committee, which is working towards re-instate the Levenmouth Rail Link to improve transport links in Fife for the wider community. This has allowed me to work within the community engaging with the local populous to raise awareness of the campaign. This work has allowed me to improve on my communication skills across a broad range of people from all age groups.
March 2017
As part of my ongoing work as the member of the Scottish Youth Parliament for Levenmouth, a parliamentary motion was lodged by Jenny Gilruth MSP for Mid Fife and Glenrothes congratulating me on my re-election and my work within the community.
