Profile

I have my LGV class 2 and also have full CPC and digital tachocard. Prior to me taking up LGV training I had completed a yearlong HNC Engineering system course at Glasgow Clyde College. I have also completed an NC in Manufacturing Engineering. So it’s safe to say that I have a real interest in all things involved with engineering. But as you can see from my employment history that I like a challenge and I like to be working. I would say I could turn my hand to almost anything. I have a broad knowledge of the working environment from factory based work to construction and onto cleaning and even the Armed forces. I am a keen, hard-working and reliable person. I am a good timekeeper and enjoy meeting people. I get on well with people and can work well either on my own or as part of a team.

Working as a driver I am responsible for loading and unloading of truck with cages of linen. I am also responsible for the delivery of these cages of clean linen to customers and collection of dirty linen cages from customers, this is done on a multi drop route that involves up to 10 deliveries per day covering the Newcastle, Gatesheshead, Durham, Sunderland and Middlesbourough.

Working as a driver for an agency. I drove a mix of 3.5 ton vans up to 18 ton trucks for various different contractors. I was responsible for all paperwork, working hours and delivery of various products including double glazing units, cleaning products and stainless steel kitchen units. These agency jobs also included a couple of trips to London with overnight stays involved.

Working as a driver/labourer. I followed on from what I had previously done in Dallas carpets. I was offered the chance to improve my sales and customer service skills, whilst also visiting customers at home to measure or make deliveries of customer’s goods to their home.

My duties were running the packaging machine at the end of the caramel shortcake line. Also worked on the production line for packing frozen desserts, loading of pallets and onto refrigerated vans for delivery. Also to make sure the work place was kept to a high standard of cleanliness.

Spare time activities

I enjoy days out with my family, watching football, watching and playing darts and I am also a very keen fisherman.
