As a HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registered paramedic I have been employed by the Welsh Ambulance Service since 2010. I have been delivering high quality care to the public dealing with physical and mental high-pressure scenarios often with little to no time to consider my plan. I also support staff of lower grades within their roles to achieve the desired outcome on any incident we attend together. I have to work with colleagues in a team or as an autonomous individual. A previous role in my employ was solo responder for several years on a Rapid Response Vehicle (RRV). To work for the ambulance service I had to complete an advanced driving qualification; the ‘Ambulance Emergency Driving’ BTEC Level 3.
