An Operations Manager working within a fast paced factory, working to tight deadlines, and in charge of 45 men on the factory floor, 3 supervisor and 2 charge hands also working under my supervision, and have recently passed my IOSH Managing Safely certificate. Also a highly experienced and multi skilled roads operative with over ten years experience working at Renfrewshire Council.
I have been working as the Transport Manager for Main Waste Solutions for the last 4 years, keeping all driving records up to date and making sure the company maintains compliance with VOSA requirements.
As an ex professional ice hockey player with a regular fitness routine, Chris is capable of maintaining long, physically demanding shifts without compromise.

Responsibilities
I’m currently the operations manager in the factory, responsible for the day to day running within the tannery, in charge of 3 area supervisors and the engineering team.
Accomplishments
I have had the challenge of improving a poor overall timekeeping performance, which has improved dramatically in the year I’ve been there. Have also reduced the running costs of the factory.
Skills Used
Good man management skills, built up a good relationship with the supervisors and charge hands working on the factory floor, to create a good work ethic.
Manual Waste Operative / Transport Manager

An additional job – evenings, weekends and holidays – covering all aspects of waste management and removal, from house clearances removing rubble, soil, unwanted furniture etc to driving and operating a skip lorry.
Since independently (and successfully) undertaking the Transport Manager CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in May 2013, the companies Transport Management now also falls under my umbrella of responsibilities.

Responsibilities: Part of the roads resurfacing team, Chris is responsible for ensuring all duties assigned to the team are carried out to a high standard and within the required timescales.
Normal duties include road surface preparation using specialist plant, road resurfacing work and specialist iron work setting out to accurate levels. In addition, during adverse weather, Chris is responsible for gritting duties sometimes working back to back, 12 hour shifts, over long periods of time, to ensure targets are met and the Client is happy.
