CSEM Business Analyst – Remediation Project
Constructed a project plan for the remediation of the exit function between the UK & Channel Islands; utilised the SME knowledge gained in the previous year in the Operationally Effective Role in CSEM. This project plan was also presented and signed off by senior management.
Created a project road map on MS Visio with seven swim lanes and key milestones through a timeline. This allowed the tracking and redistribution of tasks and processes to meet key project milestones.
Managed the day-to-day remediation project; prioritising tasks, minimising the risk to the bank and consistently meeting targets.
Solely undertook a data migration project of 2500+ individual clients; exploited Excel functions to ensure there were no duplicates, the highest risk category was used, and the migration was done in the most efficient way possible.
Demonstrated strong communication skills in creating a dialogue between the front office, cross line of business and cross border communication to strategise aged and complex cases; this eventually removed them from the HSBC book and mitigated any risk.
Performed Quality Checks for the BAU team and provided MI reports to HSBC Global – a key part of ensuring the past work of running CSEM as an operationally effective line of business.

CSEM Business Analyst – Operational Effectiveness Project
Managed the day to day running of the CSEM process – being the main point of contact for any queries regarding the book, new exits/retain clients, and being the SME on the process. Ensured SLAs were met, that client interaction is consistent with HSBC policies and all stakeholders were updated with progress reports.
Laid out project scope & targets; progress updates of key deliverables, formulated plans and delivered changes within the business unit and ensured all deliverables were met on time with the most efficient use of resources.
Performed Gap Analysis on the business; addressed how the business unit can become more efficient, hitting SLAs more consistently and formulating plans on how we can close off these gaps.
Created and tailored MI reports after discussions with business heads; this MI was delivered to local governance committees as well as HSBC Global.
Liaised with stakeholders in the front office, offshore teams, governance committees and relationship managers across various projects; reconciled the business’s position on clients and identified where they sit within the HSBC risk spectrum.
Drove the running of various reports and performed strong analysis to clean up operations within the CSEM book. An example of this was discovering £0 account balances and open records on systems with findings yielded a 10% decrease in the overall population.

Gathered MiFID II requirements from clients. Specifically this included suitability and appropriateness, firm governance, promotions, remuneration agreements and assessing discretionary managers on their fund selection processes.
Met strict deadlines coordinated with a range of teams across the bank to ensure they are respected. This also included a time & motion study to understand the length of processes – in turn allowing for more accurate planning.
