PROFILE
Professional, dependable and keen driver with 7 years of professional experience in
3.5T Luton vans delivering around London. Often praised to have demonstrated a
“keen driving sense” and “natural instinct for driving” by my instructors and
assessors alike, I enjoy driving a great deal, and have been looking to progress into
the HGV industry for years. Finally getting the opportunity through the
government’s boot camp scheme, I applied myself fully to the training, sailed
through each step, and am now in possession of a full Cat C+E entitlement, ready
and eager to start my HGV career.
EXPERIENCE
2021-2024
3.5T DELIVERY DRIVER, SAINSBURY’S ENFIELD
Delivering shopping to homes and small businesses all over London in a Luton van. Aside from the
usual responsibilities of delivering groceries to homes, I have also trained new drivers just starting out
at the depot. An asset to the team, I spent over a year running the delivery department in the evening
hours. During one particularly snowy winter, not only was I one of the few drivers that had turned up
to do their job, but I drove out to a driver stuck in the snow and brought them and their van back to
the depot. There was no ETA from the recovery company that night. My extensive driving experience
and knowledge proved to be invaluable.
2015-2019
3.5T DELIVERY DRIVER, TESCO CFC WALTHAM CROSS
Working at the Waltham Cross fulfilment center, while a much larger establishment than the
Sainsbury’s store I worked at later, was much the same job. At Tesco, I also was put in charge of
internal audit of the vehicle check books, was often tasked with ‘special’ jobs such as VIP deliveries and
collections, and overall had an excellent track record.
ACTIVITIES
For the most part, my hobbies involve calming activities, such as journaling, writing, and gaming. I have
spent a considerable amount of my free time playing driving games, as this is something I have
continually enjoyed since my childhood. I have a steering wheel setup for these games, and have spent
countless hours in racing simulators such as Gran Turismo, and truck driving simulators such as Euro
Truck Simulator. I owe a large part of my truck driving intuition and skill to the latter game.
Pre-pandemic, I also enjoyed my time riding my motorcycle. I want to do more of that in 2025. I ride my
bicycle around town, which gives me largely the same two-wheel joy as the motorcycle, but doesn’t
cost anywhere near as much (and keeps me fit)!
