I am a married man with children, I have lived in the Woodbridge area since 2002, and was brought up on the Isle of Wight before moving to London for work.

Education

I studied at Sandown High School and left in 1982 with a small selection of CSE’s at grade C or below but no longer have the certificates due to moving house over time.
I attended Bircham Newton Civil Engineering Collage in Norfolk in 1983/4 leaving with 3 City and Guilds in construction.

At my time at Jewson I had 2 roles, Yardman and HGV delivery driver.

Yardman
This involved me interacting and serving customers, both professional and non- trade. My main roll was the pick the orders and make sure that the correct items had been chosen and that where of a good quality, then package them securely ready for delivery. A high level of communication between the office and the yard to make sure that the orders went out in the correct sequence and on time. I was also responsible for unloading and loading by forklift truck our deliveries to the yard by other couriers and checking the all the orders where correct and undamaged, any damage or discrepancies where brought to the attention of the correct department.
Health and Safety was a big part of my job as the yard was small and there was always lots of movement of staff and customers so being aware of my surroundings at all times was essential.

HGV Delivery Driver
This job involved me carrying out daily safety checks on the vehicle and defecting any faults in the record book and bringing it to the attention of my manager .I was again responsible for checking my load and securing it to the lorry with the correct restraint device. most of my deliveries I used a HIAB crane, this in itself had many things to consider before using it as the safety of people and property had to be taken into account as well as the surroundings e g- overhead cables and underground pipes and cavities.
Customer satisfaction is very important to me and going the extra mile to ensure the customer is happy is always my main goal with delivery.

I have the following
LGV Class 2 since Dec 16
DCPC Card plus a further 21 hours training.
AllMI Licence ( Lorry Loader Crane )
Counter Balance Forklift Licence expires 24/11/2020

Summery

I like to try and provide a fair days work for a fair days pay ,time keeping and customer satisfaction are very high on my list of priorities, I can work as part of a team or on my own initiative and always strive to do my best in all situations.
