WORK EXPERIENCE

HGV clas 2 driver
Algarve Removals – Maldon
March 2015 to June 2018
My latest job at Algarve removals based near Maldon in Essex was make sure of the road worthiness of the vehicle, make sure its loaded properly if doing a delivery then driving the vehicle to its destination which could be anywhere in the UK, I am professional in export wrapping for furniture modern and old. I drive a lot during the week driving from one job to the next on a multi collection or collection/delivery basis. I also have a regular crew that come with me to assist in the removals. I do enjoy this type of work as I’m in a different part of the country every day and seeing different people helping them move to Portugal or Spain. With this job it does involve some nights out at least 1 night per week but could be more. I also had some stand down time which was spent in the yard doing vehicle checks and basic repairs.

Full time Carer
Department of Works and Pensions
February 2002 to March 2015
I have been my partners full time for over 10 yrs due to an illness. She is now a lot better now and we both want to get back into full time work as we are both ready now. My main role was to make sure she took hr medication when she needed them, getting her to her appointments on time and tending to her daily needs.

Home Delivery Driver / Platform Trainer
Comet Electricals – Brentwood
May 2001 to February 2002
My role in this job was to deliver electrical items and install them in customers homes in a 7.5t lorry around Essex, London and the south east, I enjoyed this job as I got to travel and meet different people everyday, after a couple of months doing this I was given a opportunity for promotion which I got to platform trainer which meant I carried on doing deliveries but if we got new driving staff I had to train them up, issue uniform and work tools, and make regular training for any new products to all drivers and mates, After about 18 months comet went into liquidation and closed down so I was made redundant.

Fork Lift Truck Driver
Argos Distribution Warehouse – Basildon
June 2000 to March 2001
This warehouse was brand new and had a recruitment drive to employ staff, I was a reach fork lift truck driver which I enjoyed, the role was collecting from goods in and placing into storage racks and collecting from storage racks and taking to goods out or refill picking bays, this job was demanding and had very tight targets but after a few months there I was made redundant due to staff cut backs and I was one of the last in so I was one of the first out.

Relief Customer Service Rep
Rentokil Initial Textiles Services – Chelmsford
June 1995 to June 2000
My role in this job was to report to the transport manager and help maintain the fleet of 8 x 3.5t vans and 1 x 7.5t lorry of which I drove both when needed, I also helped in the warehouse sorting deliveries and receiving deliveries. I also used to cover any of our main route drivers if they were off sick or on holiday and I also used to deliver bulk items of washroom goods or floor care to large companies around Essex and south east, I left this job due to being offered a better job with more money and more local for commuting, this depot later shut down and was moved out of Essex.

Warehouse man / Drivers mate
Kingdom of Leather – Chadwell Heath
August 1993 to June 1995
My job role was to load and unload delivery trucks of furniture, help load our delivery lorries and sort out deliveries ready for the next days deliveries and general warehouse duties, I also used to go out as a drivers mate when needed due to holidays or sickness, I left this job as they moved premises which was too far and expensive for me commute on a low wage but I didn’t leave until I gave my notice and found another job.
