Breakdown & Defect Controller ( two different shift patterns available: Day shift Mon – Fri or Early & Late shifts rotating, 4 days on 4 days off)

What you’ll be doing

Our Breakdown & Defect team play a crucial role at Zenith and provide our Customers with emergency assistance by proactively managing roadside and onsite breakdowns of Commercial vehicles as well as urgent defects, ensuring that such incidents are handled with care & empathy providing our customer’s driver with reassurance and using your knowledge to fact-find and ask the right questions to get the information need to get the driver recovered/repaired in the fastest, safest manner possible.

This is a professional role working in a very busy fleet management environment. The ideal candidate will be supported but must have the ability to self-mad enage whilst working under pressure. Working collaboratively and supporting the wider team and departments to ensure that the highest standard of service is achieved.

Day to day – what you can expect:

Accepting emergency roadside/onsite breakdowns or urgent defects on vans, trucks and trailers. Handling calls with empathy & care, providing drivers with reassurance at a stressful time. Using fact-finding skills to ask the right questions to establish the best course of action (service van/full recovery) to get the vehicle back on the road as quickly & safely as possible.
Taking ownership of each case you deal with and proactively ensuring that each event is managed through to completion, by accurately logging all details and allocating in line with agreed timelines to a network of third party suppliers and manufacturers.
Ensuring that correct suppliers are used, and that all breakdowns and urgent defects are progress chased and constant communication of work progress is made to the Customer
Being mindful of each Customer’s service contract obligations/operating requirements and reacting appropriately within agreed guidelines
The ideal candidate will:

Have experience of managing emergency vehicle breakdowns or Motor claims.
Have excellent verbal & written communication skills at all levels
Have a caring, empathetic & customer focused
Take ownership and be personally motivated to ensure great customer outcomes.
Excellent telephone based customer service skills
Have time management & organisational skills
Have well developed microsoft office skills
Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding working environment

Basic Salary: £26,986 (day shift) £30,222 (early & lates)
