Breakdown Recovery Driver

Job Description

WRS is currently looking for HGV Class 2 (Category C) drivers to become Recovery Specialists to provide a roadside recovery service which delivers high levels of customer satisfaction.

Role purpose

* Recover broken down vehicles from breakdown locations to their destinations safely and efficiently

* Provide high levels of customer service
* At all times work safety, ensuring the safety of self and members, to minimise risk of accident or injury.
* At all times behaviour is in keeping with that expected and defined to ensure that members are treated professionally, courteously and with empathy which ensures WRS’ reputation is maintained.

Skills & Knowledge & Qualifications

* Licensed to Category C (Minimum) OTHER LICENCES CONSIDERED

* Up to date driver CPC

* A logical thinker with proven problem solving skills
* Excellent vehicle handling skills
* A flexible approach to meet the needs of the business
* The ability to operate and maximise the use of all equipment including computerised equipment
* The ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers and colleagues in a face-to-face situation or via the telephone
* The ability to work under pressure and to see a job through to completion

As a contractor for Avon and Somerset Police you will be subject to a Police Vetting check and a Basic CRB check. Employment will be subject to the results of these checks.

Due to the nature of our industry there is compulsory overtime built into our rota. The job does involve call out work and long hours.

Basic hours are 44 per week, working as per the rota which is available upon interview.

CONTRACT HAULAGE WORK AVAILABLE ALL YEAR ROUND FOR OWNER-DRIVERS AND FLEET OWNERS WITH RIGID OR ARTICULATED VEHICLES.

To get started and apply for an Operator’s Licence, you need to have £8,000 which is a requirement of the UK and EU transport regulations (you won’t spend it). We can help you with the rest of the process.
