Locations: Bedford
Contract: Full-time, permanent (part time available upon request)
Salary: £15.75 per hour – £33,000 – £42,000 + overtime
Hours: Mon–Fri day runs (40 hr guarantee, avg. ≈ 55 hrs)

Why this role matters

You’ll be the face of our new-look fleet—delivering palletised freight nationwide, trialling eHGVs on selected routes and proving that clean haulage compromise.

What you’ll do

Start/finish at your home depot in your assigned tractor unit, we haven’t used agency for over 6 years – some day vehicles are shared with night drivers.
Collect, secure and off-load goods safely; upload ePODs in real time
Run scheduled EV shifts (full driver training & charging time paid)
Complete daily walk-around, tacho download and defect reports
Keep customers happy with polite, on-time service and can-do attitude
Feedback route and charger insights to help us fine-tune the EV roll-out
The skills & experience you’ll bring

Valid LGV C+E licence & Driver CPC
Safe, fuel- (and soon, electron-) efficient driving style
Basic tech confidence—digital tacho, driver app, EV charge display
Clear communicator, good paperwork habits
1 year artic experience preferred—new passes considered but may earn stripes in lower weight classes.
