The Securities Lending core team is looking to hire software engineer to work in our Athena development team. Athena is the strategic risk, pricing, and trade management platform created at JP Morgan and is designed to enable rapid innovation. It is a Python based platform that offers Technologists, Quantitative Analysts and Risk Managers a cross-asset portfolio of models, frameworks and tools to use in building financial applications. Within SBL Technology, Athena is used extensively for pricing, optimization and portfolio risk and analytics.
Responsibilities
Develop robust, performant pricing, trading and risk systems including building new applications & enriching existing applications using the most suitable technology choices.
Work closely with the Quant team to develop pricing and analytic components in Python, leveraging the Athena platform
Enhance the team by demonstrating best practice throughout the software development lifecycle: testing, code review, accurate status reporting, focus on application resilience and “operatability”This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes
Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
Hands on experience with common front end web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, Advanced JavaScript, ReactJS/Redux, Websocket, OpenFin, JavaScript based debugging
Experience with test driven development
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Plus
Athena / Quartz / SecDB Development and understanding of Core architecture/design
Python Programming and/or strong experience of Java Application Development
Developing visualizations for data driven UI’s
Knowledge of DBMS, Cassandra or relational database and SQL (Oracle/Sybase)
Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures
Prior experience with team-based development following a structured lifecycle
Solid Object Oriented design and programming skills
Experience of Agile Methodologies (SCRUM, TDD)
