The Mortgage Solutions Team was created in April 2010 to focus on providing high value mortgages to new and existing high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients and currently consists of 6 individuals located in London. As mortgages have been earmarked as an important growth strategy for the Private Bank the team is now being expanded to London.
Role:
As an Associate within the Mortgage Solutions team you will be responsible for all mortgages booked on the JPMIB platform, managing a portfolio of clients and their highly demanding and complex mortgage requirements. You will be arranging the mortgage, negotiating the structure supporting the mortgage and processing all mortgage transactions whilst providing an exceptional client experience.
Responsibilities:
Support senior Mortgage Specialists to manage their pipeline and originations in a timely manner
Assist in client fact find to structure mortgage transactions
Run affordability and collateral assessment through balance sheet and cash flow analysis
Document and execute mortgage loans
Submit approval requests to Credit Executives
Liaise with external legal counsel and all internal parties to get the mortgages in place
Take responsibility to ensure all covenants and other portfolio maintenance items are met, e.g. request buildings insurance certificates
Partner with Credit Risk on mortgage underwriting and annual portfolio reviews.
Train Bankers, Investors and other stakeholders in the mortgage product and process
Experienced candidates will be required to manage mortgage transactions throughout its lifecycle to ensure turn-times are efficient and ITMs and clients are provided with a high degree of serviceEssential skills and qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels
Fluent French and English speaking and written skills
Strong analytical and organisational skills
Ability to work independently
Good excel skills
Familiarity with credit and lending products
Excellent client and negotiation skills
Good general market knowledge including mortgages
CeMAP registered is a plus
Previous demonstrable mortgage experience with HNW and UHNW clients is a plus
Knowledge of mortgage underwriting and conveyancing in the UK, France and Switzerland is a plus
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
