HGV Class 2 Winter Maintenance Driver

Vector are currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 drivers to drive gritting vehicles over the winter maintenance period which will run from October 2020 through to April 2021.

During this period, you will be on standby for out of hours call out on a one week on, one week off basis, this is not a full time role.

You will be based out of a location in Swanley.

The role

In this job you will be driving a gritting vehicle, known as Winter Maintenance driving. If called out, you will be required to go into the depot and take a gritting vehicle out on a designated route in order to spread grit onto the road.

HGV Class 2 Licence and CPC

Training

Winter Maintenance Training and Qualification will be provided.

Shifts

Drivers must commit to one week on standby, then one week off. When you are on Standby you can be called out at any time to undertake a grit run. The runs will be undertaken between 1630hrs and 0600hrs, but this can obviously change subject to weather conditions. On weekends grit runs can occur anytime during a 24hr period. The client is flexible on the start time if you cannot start until 6pm due to other commitments that would be acceptable.

Pay

Standby – £94.35 per week

Call Out – £17.70 ph, grit runs tend to be between 3 and 4 hours depending on the route
