Fork Lift Truck Engineer

Due to continued growth and business success, Trident Fork Trucks has an excellent opportunity to join our team. We are looking for a candidate to fill our role of Forklift Truck Engineer. Working both on customers’ premises and in our modernised well-lit and heated workshop, you will provide the breakdown assistance, service, and repair of forklift trucks and other material handling equipment. You will be working on both customer and company-owned equipment and working on a variety of gas, diesel, and electric forklift trucks. You will work alongside our other engineers as well as the company owners. We are looking for someone with an attention to detail that takes pride in their work but is also comfortable in front of clients.

Responsibilities

Risk assess each job to ensure the work can be conducted in a safe manner for all parties
Attending breakdowns/on-site servicing on customers’ premises
Fault finding and diagnosing issues from reported faults. Diagnosing the exact nature of each query and repair with a friendly, efficient, ‘can-do’ attitude.
Service and repair of forklift trucks which include Gas, Diesel, and Electric trucks.
Completing service report paperwork
Liaising with both customers and the team
Reporting to the Service Manager
Requirements

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 or above qualified in Plant, Vehicle Maintenance or similar.

Or

Equivalent experience in Industry with a traceable employment record of working in the Forklift, Plant or Agriculture Industries.

Experience

Background in field service with forklifts is essential.
Experienced in both Gas and Diesel engines.
Experienced in Hydraulic Systems
Experienced in electric material handling equipment.
Proficient in fault finding and repair.
Competent in major overhaul of engines and fuel systems.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Clear communication skills
Ability to use a Pc, Smart Phone or Tablet
A full UK drivers’ license
