PAY RATE: £23.82 per hour Umbrella

JOB SUMMARY

To drive all vehicles specified by management (subject to licence entitlements) as required by Southwark Commercial Waste Services.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
To report to the Business Services Manager or an officer delegated with the responsibility.
To ensure vehicles are road-worthy before, during and after each shift.
Carry out safety checks as detailed in the drivers’ log books.
Complete drivers log books fully and truthfully.
Report defects and accidents immediately.
To sort and recycle loads where appropriate.
Carry out tasks as assigned, including loading of goods, waste and any other item that needs transporting.
Clean the vehicle (inside and out) at least every two weeks or as directed.
HE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
A full, clean class 1 or class 2 heavy goods vehicle licence for LGV drivers.
A minimum of 2 years experience of working in a cleaning, grounds maintenance, waste management or related work environment as a driver/ LGV driver.
