Full job description
We are a small family-run company based in Derby, Derbyshire, and Nottingham, seeking experienced and hardworking HGV Class 2 Lorry Drivers to join our team.

About the role:
Join us as an HGV Class 2 Driver in Tuxford, Nottingham, and you will be the face of SLD Recruitment out on the road, making sure to always be professional and make a good impression with our loyal customers.

Your Job Role:
You’ll be driving HGV lorries in and around Newark, Nottingham, and throughout the UK.

This can be a physical role, as sometimes you’ll carry out multi-drop deliveries.

Daily driving duties, complying with all legal obligations, and company procedures

A to B Trunking work

Conducting daily vehicle checks and maintaining accurate records

Yard duties as required, including preparing your wagon

Adhering to Health Safety regulations at all times

Providing excellent customer service while interacting with clients

You’ll be fully prepped and have a full induction before going out on any job

About you:
Ideally, you’ll have previously worked as a multi-drop HGV Class 2 Driver

Trustworthy

Local to Tuxford Newark Nottingham or be willing to commute

You’ll also need:
To have held a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Category C/Class 2 driving license for at least 1 year (with a maximum of 6 penalty points)

An up-to-date Driver CPC card and training

A valid digital Tachograph card

Excellent knowledge of Drivers’ hours regulations (this can also be explained in full)

To meet the shift availability requirements for this vacancy

Experience of tail-lift operation would also be beneficial, but isn’t essential.
