The Group is striving to be the best bank for customers and to help Britain prosper. We’re all responsible for the long-term success of the Group. Our in-house legal teams work in close collaborative partnership with both external counsel and business partners, delivering high quality legal services and managing the Group’s legal risk.

Within the Debt Products Legal team for Commercial Banking, we provide dedicated, pro-active strategic legal advice in relation to lending products end to end across the SME and Mid Markets Banking, Global Corporates, Financial Institutions and Capital Markets businesses. Debt Products is part of Commercial Banking Legal and the wider Legal Community at Lloyds Banking Group.

We’re currently seeking a Senior Lawyer to provide specialist support to our Commercial Banking businesses within Loan Financing in CB Markets. You’ll be working within a team of just over 20 Lawyers, focusing predominantly on Specialist Debt, along with additional responsibility for Loan Markets and the Structured Infrastructure and Energy business.

It’s essential that you have experience in acquisition or leveraged finance, with up to date market skills, knowledge and experience, as you’ll be making decisions and recommending on legal policy and procedures to support our Commercial Banking business. We’ll need you to collaborate with external lawyers and industry bodies, providing high quality support and advice in complex areas, as well as supporting the resolution of exceptions where issues rise. You’ll need to hold a current legal practicing certificate, as well as substantial post-qualification acquisition/leveraged finance experience.

You’ll collaborate with other key legal areas/disciplines within the Debt Products legal team, as well as developing standard documentation, and delivering technical input to influence projects and product developments or transactions.

As you’d expect, we’ll want you to evidence strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Your role will involve taking personal responsibility for relationships with stakeholders, so it’s important you can engage, build and manage relationships both internally and externally.

There will also be a need to engage and work with external panel firms. You’ll be involved in the selection and instruction, and the required supervision of firms, along with managing exceptions.

In return, in addition to salary, we offer an award-winning benefits package, performance-related bonus, car allowance, a contributory pension scheme and private medical insurance, as well as a flexible benefit scheme with industry leading benefits on offer.

We’re passionate about diversity and providing equal opportunity. We’re also considerate of agile working, and open to considering aspects of this to suit individual and business requirements on a flexible basis and as appropriate. Join us and be part of an inclusive, values-led culture passionate about making a difference. Whatever your aspiration, you can also expect excellent benefits, personal development and a career that’s enriching and full of opportunity.

So if you have the skills and experience we need, we’d be keen to hear from you.

Together we make it possible.
