Senior Designer

We are looking for a passionate senior designer to join our growing team. The right person will work well as part of the design team while also pushing the bar on design quality at Funding Circle.

You will:

• Be part of the design & user experience team, reporting to the Head of Design.
• Work in our London office, with the occasional trip to our San Francisco office.
• Work closely with all areas of the company, from marketing and customer support through technology and product.
• Be confident conveying design thinking to non-designers and translating problems and requirements.
• Design for multiple screen sizes, small screen first as well as native apps.
• See projects through from initial idea to responsively designed pages and flows.
• Help lead on the design style and user experience.
• Work with our technology team to refine designs in build.
• Be involved in running usability studies and collaborating on early UX research.

You have:

• A great understanding of typography, composition and grid systems.
• A good eye.
• Leadership skills.
• Attention to detail.
• A strong portfolio of effective UX/interaction design and can talk us through your process.
• Experience designing for other media such as print.
• Strong experience in responsive design, ideally mobile-/small screen-first.
• A firm knowledge of your chosen design tools. We primarily use Sketch alongside the usual Adobe suite, with other tools like Invision and Pixate.
• Basic knowledge of HTML & CSS.

It would be nice if you:

• Are at home writing HTML, CSS, and Javascript to help prototype ideas.
• Have an interest in, or experience of, usability and running user testing.
• Have experience designing for print.
• Are already designing small screen-first.
