Senior Credit Risk Manager 

The Role

• You will join Funding Circle Risk & Analytics team, where leading edge models and analytics are created to harness the power of data and enable scientifically optimised business decisions.
• Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will be responsible for optimising credit risk strategies for new and existing SME borrowers through analytically advanced solutions.
• You will develop a deep understanding of our customers’ needs, of the market environment and of our processes to elaborate methods enabling growth of lending volumes whilst maintaining sustainable risk / reward dynamics
• You will collaborate with highly talented risk analysts, decision scientists and experts in marketing strategy, technology, data management, and business operations to deliver best-in-class customer experience
• You will ensure we operate under strong risk controls and deliver a portfolio risk profile in line with the company risk appetite

The Candidate

• *Typically 5-10 years’ experience in credit risk analytics / customer analytics in SME lending or retail lending environment in a bank or other lending institution – with a minimum 2 years of direct experience in credit risk strategy optimisation
• Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills using logical reasoning and analytical methods.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to articulate complex problems into clear frameworks
• Passionate about Funding Circle’s mission and values – agile, collaborative, great to work with
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, working knowledge of SQL or R or SAS.
• Masters or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering etc.)
