The Role: Senior Account Project Manager, Creative Team

The Team:
The Senior Account Project Manager will support the development and management of a division’s marketing efforts and projects for a newly developed in-house Creative team within a Fortune 500 Company. This is an opportunity to provide project management leadership, guidance and your print and digital expertise to deliver on time, on budget, high quality work, representative of the brand. As a senior member of the team, you will lead the efforts in our London office representing the creative team based in the US. You will shape and influence how the creative team is perceived, provide critical thinking into best practices of project requests and provide guidance to in-house clients ensuring process, brand guidelines and creative excellence is achieved through your superior communication skills.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Serve as a main departmental contact for project governance and leadership on campaigns, imparting vision, clarifying strategic requirements, clearly explaining complex ideas, and managing expectations.
- Develop project plans and execution strategies for all projects from initiation through completion.
- Utilize a rigorous process of defining client requirements and project specifications, and communicate this with clear concise briefs and scopes of work.
- Gain intimate knowledge of projects and client requirements, knowing what has to happen at every stage to ensure successful completion of all projects.
- Use formal processes and tools to manage resources, project purpose; clarify roles, tasks, milestones, budgets and measures of success.
- Manage high-volume of simple print production projects through our Studio production team.
- Manage templated content updates on websites and emails
- Manage complex projects that cross multiple areas of a business, with minimal to no guidance from a more senior member of the team.
- Manage project estimation activity including daily schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Manages each project to ensure on time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.
- Work closely with Creative Director to select core creative team, communicate approach, present plans and gain sign-offs.
- Work closely with Creative Director and clients to ensure resource strategy for specific tasks and to implement sourcing schedule to ensure workflow coverage and optimize talent.
- Conduct project kickoff meetings within the creative team to communicate roles and ensure all team members have the tools to perform effectively.
Problem Solving
- Analyze and discuss risks and/or benefits involved for project requests and relay to client with accompanying solutions to enable client and team to mitigate risks.
- Solves a range of routine problems encountered in projects.
- Monitor projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating, reporting progress and quality of work, managing issue resolution and taking corrective action when necessary.
Interactions
- Promote effective teamwork, and bring interpersonal issues to the attention of the Executive Creative Director.
- Attend weekly and monthly meetings as necessary.
- Create clear realistic schedules from kickoff meeting to completion and communicate those schedules to all appropriate staff. Red flag concepts and requests that are unrealistic, if needed.
- Red flag talent, workflow and production issues.
- Provide guidance, when necessary, to ensure successful conclusions
- Identify workflow holes through constructive criticism and provide possible resolutions.
- Source creative staff, matching the talent with project objectives.
- Manage and source vendors as necessary, matching qualifications with project requirements.
- Develop relationships with in-house clients and create regular communication protocols with meetings and transparent reports.
Typical Scope and Goals
- Contributes to the achievement of team objectives and the objectives of the functional or business areas supported.
- Contributes to the project management team objectives and tracks objectives as necessary.
Minimum and preferred experience and skills
- Must have extensive experience managing the creative and print production process
- Demonstrable experience managing creative projects in an agency or in-house agency necessary
- Experience managing digital projects is preferred but not required
- Understanding and fluency in the fundamentals of marketing strategy including market research, audience targeting, personas, scenarios, customer journey, key performance indicators, value propositions, direct marketing and CRM
- Understanding and fluency in the fundamentals of digital and social media marketing strategy and analytics
- Understanding and fluency in the methodology and best practices of user-experience design is a plus
- Hands-on experience with Workfront, Adobe Creative Suite, Dreamweaver, CSS, and HTML5, Javascript, CMS, DAM management, WordPress, Aftereffects is a plus
- Project Management Certification is a plus
- Understanding and fluency in formal project management methodology including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, AgileFall and Six Sigma is a plus
- BA or equivalent experience
